The Jim Thompson Art Center cordially invites you to attend the art therapy workshop Mindfull Art conducted by Kit Kerdbandit, a professionally trained art therapist. The program will be held on three consecutive Saturdays: 16, 23 and 30 January 2010 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the William Warren Library, Henry B Thompson building. The workshop fee is 500 Baht per session (with reduced fee for all 3 sessions of 1200/person).
Each weekly session will take about 3 hours. The program starts with a brief meditation, a few minutes to center and ground oneself. After that the Art Studio will be opened for about 30-45 minutes and participants will be given a sheet to answer: What color are you today? They can define their feelings using their preferred color. They will also be asked to clarify their choice of color. On this same sheet, they will create a theme for that day. This will be followed by a themed activity which will last for about 30-45 minutes.
This program is part of the Golden Tiger/Hidden Monkey exhibition. The concept is to examine the merging of knowledge and scientific approach: both of which are extremely powerful and play significant roles in Thai politics even today. The Mindfull Art workshop will focus on three different themes which are related to the current exhibition at the Jim Thompson Art Center.
